    Part A:
    Accounting For Not-For-Profit Organisations, Partnership Firms and Companies
    Under this first part, there are three units. Here are the details –

    Unit 1:

    Financial Statements for Not-For-Profit Organisations
    The first unit of Accountancy Class 12 CBSE syllabus includes an introduction to the concept of non-profit organisations, features and preparation of their receipt and payment accounts. It also has a brief about their income and expenditure account.

    Unit 3:

    Accounting for Companies:
    In this section, students come across the concepts of share capital and accounting for debentures.

    Unit 2:

    Accounting for Partnership Firm:
    In this unit of Class 12 Accountancy syllabus students learn the particulars of a partnership firm and details of its accounting. It includes reading about partnership deeds, partnership acts, capital accounts, etc. This chapter also provides an insight into the reconstitution and dissolution of partnership firms.

    Part B:
    Financial Statement Analysis

    Unit 4:

    Analysis of financial statement:
    This section of Accountancy syllabus Class 12 CBSE includes learning about different financial statements associated with a company, and their particulars. It further describes the concept of accounting ratio, solvency ratio, liquidity ratio, etc. It also discusses the tools required for the job and their details.

    Unit 5:

    Cash flow statement:
    Going through this section will help students understand the basics of cash flow in a business. Additionally, it also includes a detailed description of the objectives and preparation of this document, which include adjusting depreciation, tax, sources of income, etc.

    Part C:
    Project Work

    In this section of Class 12 Accountancy syllabus, students get to participate in project work. It includes completing a project file based on their studies, and sitting for a written exam. It also consists of a viva.

    These are the major topics of Class 12 Accountancy, but students also have the option to opt for the computerised accounting chapter instead of their project work. This chapter will include learning about the followings –

    Different types of accounting applications.

    Using a computer-based accounting software.

    Learning the fundamentals of database management system or DBMS.

    Also, there is a provision for another project work here. It also includes the same, i.e. creating a project file, sitting for a written exam, and a viva. Additionally, students can refer to the guidelines of CBSE to know more about their project work.

    The Class 12 Accountancy syllabus comprises topics that help students to learn the fundamentals of accounting.
